South Central Indiana Talent Region READI Plan

HWC’s plan for the South Central Indiana Talent Region supported improving the quality of place for residents, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship around alternative propulsion vehicles, and strengthening workforce training initiatives. This Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) region included Bartholomew, Jennings, and Jackson counties. As a result of this comprehensive effort, the South Central Indiana Talent Region was awarded $30 million for a range of projects throughout the three-county region.

North Central Indiana Regional Planning Council

North Central Indiana READI Plan

The North Central Indiana Region, represented by the North Central Indiana Regional Planning Council (NCIRPC) is a regional partnership among Cass, Clinton, Fulton, Howard, Miami and Tipton Counties. The region has known for a long time that to meet demands of a 21st economy, it is imperative that the North Central Indiana Region (North Central Region) grow its population to support the workforce it will need to capitalize on its current and future economic opportunities. To attract this workforce, it is essential that the region expand and enhance the amenities that are desired, not just by those that live there today, but also those that the region must attract for long-term sustainability.

The READI grant is a tool that will not only help the region build on the work that has already been completed, but will allow them to deliver this regional enhancement at an exponential pace. The North Central Region is a region with a strong economy, proven record of success and a demonstrated commitment to investing in, and improving, quality of life, and economic opportunity in the region. READI will provide the fuel to accelerate the region’s progress and help them build on existing momentum to help grow the region’s population.

The result of the plan netted a $30 million award from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and will begin implementing projects outlined in the plan starting in 2022.

180 Alliance Region

The 180 Alliance represents the next ring of growth and development in the greater Indianapolis region.  Consisting of Boone, Hendricks, Johnson, Montgomery, Morgan, and Putnam Counties, this new region came together around the shared vision of protecting community identity in the face of growth. HWC led the development of the regional plan for the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI). As a result of the planning, the region was awarded $20 million for a range of supporting projects.

Accelerate Rural Indiana

Accelerate Rural Indiana READI Plan

HWC led the development of a regional plan for the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) for this new region. Consisting of Decatur, Rush and Shelby Counties and the City of Batesville, the region focused on shared opportunities along the Interstate 74 corridor.  As a result of this effort, the Accelerate Rural Indiana Region was awarded $20 million for a range of projects throughout the three-county region.
